Architect - Tom Fazio

Golf Course News voted him Golf Course Architect of the Year five years in a row!

The awards and accolades for Tom Fazio's golf courses seem to pile up year after year. Yet, it has only been in the last ten years that Fazio has taken his place among those who are considered the best of their time.

Tom Fazio began his career as a golf course designer in the suburban Philadelphia office of the Fazio family firm in the 1960's. In 1972, he established his own firm with an office in Jupiter, Florida. Since those early days, Tom has been involved with the detail design and construction of golf courses all over the United States. Some of the most noted of his courses are: Shadow Creek, Las Vegas, NV, Black Diamond, Lecanto, FL., Wade Hampton, Cashiers, N.C., Wild Dunes, Charleston, S.C., World Woods, Homosassa, FL., as well as many other prestigious courses.

"Golf courses should reflect the natural beauty of the setting."

And on this premise, Tom Fazio and his staff of talented associates have set design priorities:

  • To create a harmonious transition from existing topography conditions;
  • To establish golf holes that offer golfers of all skill levels a course that is fun, yet challenging;
  • To provide the client optimum use of the property.
